Bookshelf is designed to keep your reading data useful to you while limiting unnecessary collection. This policy explains what data may be stored or shared when you use the app and website.

Data you create in Bookshelf

Your library, reading statuses, pages read, notes, ratings, reading sessions, friends, and profile details are created by you in the app. Bookshelf stores app data on your device and may sync it through Apple iCloud/CloudKit when those Apple services are enabled for your account.

Profiles and friends

If you create or publish a profile, the profile information and selected reading activity you choose to show can be available through Bookshelf social features so friends can find you and see your activity. Avoid publishing information you do not want others to see.

Book search, author search, and ISBN scanning

When you search for books/authors or scan an ISBN, Bookshelf may send the search query or ISBN to Bookshelf metadata services and public book-data providers so it can return titles, authors, covers, editions, and ratings. These requests are used to provide the feature and improve reliability.

Purchases

In-app purchases are processed by Apple. Bookshelf may use RevenueCat to validate purchase state and manage entitlements. We do not receive your full payment card details.

Website

This marketing website is a static site. It does not intentionally collect personal information unless you choose to contact us by email.

No ads or sale of personal data

Bookshelf does not include third-party advertising, and we do not sell your personal data.

Deleting data

You can delete local app data from your device by removing app content or uninstalling the app. For questions about published profile data or support requests, contact us at contact@xzebra.dev.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes are effective when posted on this page.
